We are a small, two person business and we have been making individually crafted items together for over a decade.   Bound in real leather this journal has a hand tooled Celtic Triquetra design surrounded by a circle of leaves. The leather has a beautiful antiqued finish. The Triquetra is an ancient design that symbolizes the importance of the number three in many spiritual traditions. In paganism it represents the triple aspect of the Goddess (Maiden, Mother and Crone). In Christianity it represents the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). It is 24.5cm x 17.5cm x 3cm (approx. 9.75 x 7 x 1.25 inches) and contains approximately 250 pages (500 sides) of A5 sized, recycled, paper. The paper that we use is a natural, off-white, oatmeal colour with faint flecks. It has a matt appearance and is slightly textured. It takes a fountain pen without 'bleeding' and is a good mid-tone for sketching.It is 100% recycled from partly de-inked, post consumer waste and has achieved both the Nordic Swan and Blue Angel awards for high environmental standards. It is also classified as DIN 6738, which means that it will last for several hundred years. This is great if you're planning on leaving your words for future generations. The paper can be replaced easily with any A5 pre-punched paper, it is held in place by a cord that fastens at the back of the book. The covers of the book are held closed with a cord, finished with leather beads. It makes a wonderful journal; diary; grimoire; sketchbook; etc. This is the earthy alternative to the mass produced books generally available and makes a unique gift. As leather is a natural material the tone and grain of each journal may vary from the image shown. This style of journal is available in other sizes.
