Here is one of my latest creations -- a beautiful machine-pieced zabuton cover that can double as an eye-catching decorative addition to your meditation area. Enhance your sitting meditation with these handcrafted traditional meditation cushions, designed for comfort, stability, and durability. This set consists of two cushions: the traditional pleated zafu ("sewn seat") to provide you with support during zazen, and the zabuton ("floor pad") that goes underneath, to provide cushioning between your knees and the floor. These cushions together make a meditation practice much more comfortable, as they make it possible for Westerners to sit in half-or full-lotus posture without too much discomfort. These cushions are hand-made by me, from patterns I designed myself. They are guaranteed to provide you with years of use. I use the best and most high-quality materials I can obtain in order to provide you with the finest meditation products possible. The zafu is covered with sturdy black cotton canvas, and filled with either organic buckwheat hulls or natural kapok fiber (your choice.) The zafu is designed with a velcro closure so that the amount of filling can be adjusted, and a sewn-in handle for ease of transport. It has triple-sewn seams for durability, and measures 15" by 7". The cover is washable with care (remove the stuffing first!!) The zabuton features a mini-patchwork quilt on top, featuring beautiful Asian fabrics from the Ginkgo Fantasy collection by Lonni Rossi. Four goddess/geisha blocks in black and gold, all different, alternate with four-patch blocks in red and black kanji prints, and larger blocks of beautiful red ginkgo leaves and gold script on black. A solid black border completes this piece. This is without a doubt some of the most beautiful fabric in my collection. The bottom side of the zabuton cover is the same black canvas as the zafu. The zabuton cover also has a velcro closure, so that the cover can be removed for laundering. All fabrics have been prewashed, so you can gently launder your cover as needed without concerns about shrinkage. The cotton batting inside is enclosed in a separate muslin liner. The zabuton measures about 30 inches square, with a 3-inch loft. I've been making and selling these meditation sets for years, and I've sold hundreds of them to satisfied eBay buyers, many of them repeat customers. I've provided my handmade cushions to Zen centers around the U.S. as well as to individual practitioners in local zendos. I'm a one-woman operation, so every single cushion is handmade by me. Every aspect of your purchase receives my personal attention. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about materials, construction, etc. Making these cushions is a part of my own practice; it constitutes a combination of skillful means and right livelihood, so I'm absolutely committed to your satisfaction. No sale is final until you are happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not pleased with your cushions, I will cheerfully exchange them or refund your money. Your package is my responsibility until it is safely in your hands. I do lots of custom work, and any zafu and/or zabuton I make can be customized to your specifications. I offer extra-large sets, crescent-shaped zafus, kapok stuffing, and several colors and fabrics. Please look at my zafu-buying guide, Zen and the Art of Choosing Meditation Cushions, if you have general questions about meditation cushions. If your question isn't answered there, feel free to email me. The only silly question is the one you don't ask. Important: Please allow 5-7 days after your payment is received for your package to be shipped (this means you'll need to allow about 2 weeks for delivery). All of my cushions are handmade to order, one at a time, and I won't ship anything until I'm satisfied that it's up to my standards. To produce an item by hand takes a little more time than tossing a factory-made cushion into a box, but I believe that with the extra attention to detail and my personal commitment to your satisfaction, you'll find the wait is worth it. Need a different fabric? Different color? Different style? Larger size? By all means check the listings in my eBay store, Shade of the Bo Tree, for more items like this one, in different styles, colors, and sizes. Thanks very much for having a look. Your business is greatly appreciated. Your payment may be sent via Paypal, check, or money order. Email me within three days of your purchase to confirm your shipping address and inform me of your payment preference. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Shipping will be via UPS Ground to the lower 48 (USPS is also available for military addresses, Alaska and Hawaii, PO box addresses, and international shipments – please email me for a USPS rate quote.) Please note that this is a custom-made set, so you will need to allow about two weeks after payment is received for your set to be delivered, a bit longer for international buyers. Note for international buyers: International buyers are always welcome, but please be aware that any shipping costs do not include customs fees or duties and/or import taxes assessed by your government. I always label international packages as "merchandise," as the law requires, so you may want to check with your local postal service to see what, if any, additional charges may apply at your end.
