My huge collection of gorgeous Japanese-themed fabrics were a natural choice for this project, and I hope you like the results as much as I do. Enhance your sitting meditation with these handcrafted traditional meditation cushions, designed for comfort, stability, and durability. This set consists of two cushions: the traditional pleated zafu ("sewn seat") to provide you with support during zazen, and the zabuton ("floor pad") that goes underneath, to provide cushioning between your knees and the floor. These cushions together make a meditation practice much more comfortable, as they make it possible for Westerners to sit in half-or full-lotus posture without too much discomfort. These cushions are hand-made by me, from patterns I designed myself. They are guaranteed to provide you with years of use. I use the best and most high-quality materials I can obtain in order to provide you with the finest meditation products possible. The zafu is covered with sturdy black cotton twill, and filled with either organic buckwheat hulls or natural kapok fiber (your choice.) The zafu is designed with a velcro closure so that the amount of filling can be adjusted, and a sewn-in handle for ease of transport. It has triple-sewn seams for durability, and measures 15" by 7". The cover is washable with care (remove the stuffing first!!) The zabuton features a machine-pieced patchwork quilt on top, and my camera just can't do justice to these beautiful fabrics. The fabrics are from the Lonni Rossi "Asian Harmony" line, in shades ranging from pale blue to blue-black. There are four blocks with Rossi's "Goddess Faces" in metallic gold on black, and the other patches have chrysanthemums, kanji script, and bamboo, with metallic gold highlights. The bamboo print even has a lucky cricket! I had such fun designing and sewing this little quilt! The bottom side of the zabuton cover is in the same black twill as the zafu. The zabuton cover also has a velcro closure, so that the cover can be removed for laundering. All fabrics have been prewashed, so you can gently launder your cover as needed without concerns about shrinkage. The cotton batting inside is enclosed in a separate muslin liner. The zabuton measures about 30 inches square, with a 3-inch loft. (Note: This same set is also available in the brown colorway of these same fabrics.) I've been making and selling these meditation sets for years, and I've sold hundreds of them to satisfied practitioners, many of them repeat customers (check my feedback!). I've provided my handmade cushions to Zen centers around the U.S. as well as to individual practitioners in local zendos. I'm a one-woman operation, so every single cushion is handmade by me. Every aspect of your purchase receives my personal attention. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about materials, construction, etc. Making these cushions is a part of my own practice; it constitutes a combination of skillful means and right livelihood, so I'm absolutely committed to your satisfaction. No sale is final until you are happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not pleased with your cushions, I will cheerfully exchange them or refund your money. Your package is my responsibility until it is safely in your hands. I'm a verified Square Trade seller, so you can buy with confidence. I do lots of custom work, and any zafu and/or zabuton I make can be customized to your specifications. I'll be adding many more of these patchwork zabuton covers to my collection, so be sure to check my other listings. I offer extra-large sets, crescent-shaped zafus, kapok stuffing, and several colors and fabrics. Please look at my buying guide, Zen and the Art of Choosing Meditation Cushions , if you have general questions about meditation cushions. If your question isn't answered there, feel free to email me. The only silly question is the one you don't ask. As with all of my handmade items, you may return your purchase for a full refund, minus shipping costs, if it is not satisfactory. Please email me as soon as possible with a brief explanation of the reason for the return, and specify your preference for an exchange, a store credit, or a refund. No sale is final until you are happy with your purchase. Your payment may be sent via Paypal, check, or money order, whatever is most convenient. Please email me within three days of your purchase to confirm your shipping address and inform me of your payment preference. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Your business is greatly appreciated. Shipping will be via UPS Ground to the lower 48 (USPS is also available for military addresses, Alaska and Hawaii, PO box addresses, and international shipments – please email me for a USPS rate quote.) You will receive a confirming email with tracking information when your package is on its way. Important: Please note that this is a custom-made set, so you will need to allow 5-7 days after your payment is received for your package to be shipped (this means you'll need to allow about 2 weeks for delivery, a bit longer for USPS Parcel Post and international shipments.) All of my cushions are handmade to order, one at a time, and I won't ship anything until I'm satisfied that it's up to my standards. To produce an item by hand takes a little more time than tossing a factory-made item into a box, but I believe that with the extra attention to detail and my personal commitment to your satisfaction, you'll find the wait is worth it.
